Heap and Sweep strategy
We offer the Manulife Bank Platinum Plus® MasterCard® with WorldPoints® because, with it, you can maximize the value of your Manulife One account, save interest costs and earn reward points. It’s called the “Heap and Sweep” strategy.
Heap
First, use your Manulife Bank MasterCard for as many of your monthly expenses as you can. This allows you to keep your income inside your Manulife One account all month, saving you interest. And, each time you make a purchase with the card, you “heap” up reward points.
Sweep
Then, at the end of the month, you automatically “sweep” the card balance into your Manulife One account (by setting up an automated payment) before interest is charged on the balance.1
The Heap and Sweep strategy is like having a credit card with as low a rate as your Manulife One account AND every dollar you spend earns great reward points!
Next steps
Simply complete the Pre–Authorized Debit form and fax it, along with a void cheque, to MBNA Canada2.
1 The balance in the Manulife One account cannot exceed the approved borrowing limit.
2 To automatically “sweep” your card each month, print the Pre–Authorization Debit Agreement, complete, sign and fax it to MBNA's attention at 1 800 871–0994. When you sign up for MBNA's Pre–Authorized Debit service, your bank account will automatically be debited monthly with an amount of your choice. If you’d like to pay the balance in full each month, simply hand–write “Pay in full” in the payment amount section.
